Customization & Design
Does a custom logo require a new mold? How is the tooling fee calculated?
It depends on the logo technique. Mold-based logos — embossed, debossed or cast into the part — require tooling, typically US$100–500 per style depending on size and detail. Laser marking and etching need no mold at all, so they suit small runs and startup orders. Tooling cost is quoted per mold before work starts, with no hidden charges, and is refundable or credited once your cumulative volume reaches an agreed threshold. If your logo can be added to one of our existing mold designs, you may pay no tooling fee at all.
Can you reproduce a design from a physical sample we provide?
Yes, this is a common starting point. Send us the physical piece — even a reference product you want improved — and our engineers will 3D-scan or manually measure it, rebuild the CAD model, and adjust structure, dimensions or detailing as you require. We can match the geometry exactly or refine weak points such as thin walls and loose springs. One note: we reproduce unbranded reference samples freely, but we will not copy a design protected by another brand’s active patent or trademark. Sampling from a physical reference typically takes 7–10 working days.
Will you keep our design drawings confidential? Can you sign an NDA?
Yes. As an OEM manufacturer, confidentiality is standard practice, and we sign NDAs before receiving any files. Your drawings, molds and finished designs are used exclusively for your orders — never shown to other clients, never listed in our catalog, never sold to trading companies. Custom molds are stored in a dedicated area tagged with your project code. Many of our long-term clients are brands whose designs you will never see on our website, precisely because of this policy. If your legal team has its own NDA template, send it over; otherwise we provide our standard bilingual version.
Who owns the molds? Can we take them with us?
You do. Once the tooling fee is paid, the mold is your property — full ownership terms are written into the contract before work begins. We store molds free of charge in our warehouse, maintain them between production runs, and they are used only for your orders. If you ever decide to move production elsewhere, we will pack and ship your molds to you or your new supplier at cost, with a handover list. Mold life for typical hardware tooling runs to hundreds of thousands of shots, and we cover normal maintenance during cooperation.
Can existing open-mold products be modified in size or shape?
Minor modifications, yes; structural changes usually require new tooling. With our hundreds of existing molds we can often adjust non-critical dimensions, change the logo area, swap a ring size or alter the surface finish without new mold cost — the fastest, cheapest route to a semi-custom product. Changes to core geometry, wall thickness or mechanisms mean modifying or rebuilding the mold, quoted case by case. Send us the catalog item number plus your target dimensions, and our engineers will tell you within a day whether modification is feasible.
Can you develop special functional structures, like silent magnetic closures or quick-release mechanisms?
Yes, functional engineering is one of our strengths. We regularly develop silent
magnetic snaps with damped closing action, quick-release buckles, one-hand
turn locks and custom spring mechanisms for premium bag and case brands. Development starts from your functional requirement — holding force, opening angle, cycle life target — and our engineers propose a structure with 3D drawings, then a working prototype for testing. Mechanism parts are verified with cycle testing of 10,000+ open-close operations before mass production. Share the experience you want the user to feel, and we will engineer toward it.
Do you have an existing product catalog we can browse?
Yes. We maintain a catalog of several hundred proven bag hardware designs —

case fittings — most available from existing molds with MOQs from 100–500 pieces. Choosing a catalog design saves the tooling fee and shortens sampling to a few days. Tell us your product type and style direction and we will send a curated selection rather than the full catalog. New designs are added continuously, so ask about recent additions if you have browsed our range before.
How long does it take from design to mass production for one product?
Typically 4–8 weeks from first sketch to shipped bulk goods. A realistic timeline: 3–5 working days for 3D drawings, 7–10 days for mold making and samples, one revision round if needed, then 25–35 days of mass production after deposit. Simple logo customization on an existing mold compresses this to about two weeks. Complex new mechanisms with multiple revisions can take longer, so we recommend starting development at least three months before your product launch. We give you a dated project schedule at kickoff and report against it weekly.
What logo customization techniques do you offer — engraving, casting, etching or laser?
Four main techniques, chosen by logo style and budget. Die-cast or stamped logos are formed directly in the mold — the most durable option and free per piece once tooling exists, ideal for new custom designs. CNC or laser engraving cuts the logo into finished parts, adding fine detail without new molds. Chemical etching suits shallow, precise artwork on flat surfaces. Laser marking is the fastest, lowest-cost choice for small runs on
logo plates and tags. We recommend the method after seeing your artwork, and logo samples in different techniques can be compared side by side before you decide.
Can you provide free 3D design drawings?
Yes — 3D modeling and engineering drawings are free for confirmed custom projects, and you approve them before any tooling money is spent. Our engineers rebuild your sketch, sample or reference into a production-ready CAD model, then send rendered views and dimensioned drawings for your review; reasonable revision rounds are included. We also manufacture directly from customer-supplied files — see how we
work from STEP and 3D files. All drawings are handled under NDA on request and are never shared with or reused for other clients.
Samples & Prototyping
How quickly can stock samples be shipped?
Within 1–3 working days of your request. Existing-mold and catalog items are kept in our sample room in standard finishes, so most requests ship the same or next working day via DHL, FedEx or UPS, reaching the US or Europe in 3–7 days. Stock samples are free of charge for serious inquiries — you only cover the courier cost, or provide your courier account. If you want to compare finishes, tell us which colors and we will pull the closest available stock pieces so you can evaluate quality and color before committing to custom sampling.
Can you make samples in several colors or finishes for comparison?
Yes, and we recommend it. For custom styles we can produce the same sample in multiple finishes — for example PVD gold, rose gold and gunmetal, or PVD versus electroplating side by side — so your team can compare color, gloss and hand feel physically before deciding. Additional finish variants of the same sample add only a small per-variant charge, since the base part is already made. For stock items we simply pull existing finishes from the sample room at no extra sampling cost. Comparing physical samples is the fastest way to settle internal design debates.
If we are not satisfied with the sample, can it be revised? How many times?
Yes — reasonable revisions are free, and most projects finalize within one or two rounds. Simple adjustments such as finish color, logo depth or minor dimensions are revised quickly at no charge. If a revision requires new tooling because the structure changes fundamentally, we quote the difference transparently before proceeding. Our process is designed to prevent surprises: you approve 3D drawings before metal is cut, so samples usually arrive close to expectation. We keep iterating until you approve, because mass production only starts on a signed golden sample you are happy with.
Can we do a 3D-printed prototype first to confirm structure, then a metal sample?
Yes, and for new mechanisms we recommend exactly this sequence. A 3D-printed resin prototype takes 2–3 days from approved drawings and lets you verify size, assembly fit and function on your bag or case before any tooling money is spent — catching structural problems at the cheapest possible stage. Once the printed prototype is approved, we proceed to mold making and a real metal sample in the actual material and finish. This two-step approach typically saves one or two tooling revision rounds and shortens the overall development timeline for custom designs.
Production & Lead Time
Our order is urgent — can you expedite or jump the production queue?
Usually yes, with honest limits. Because all processes — casting, stamping, polishing and plating — are in-house, we can re-sequence our own schedule rather than wait on subcontractors. Expedited production can cut the standard lead time by roughly one third, sometimes with a modest rush surcharge depending on factory load. What we will never do is skip QC steps to gain days. Tell us your real deadline and quantity upfront: if we commit to an expedited date on the proforma invoice, we treat it as binding.
Do you provide progress photos or videos during production?
Yes. We send photo and video updates at key milestones — tooling completion, first castings, polishing, plating and final packing — so you always know where your order stands without chasing us. For larger orders we can schedule live video calls from the production floor at agreed checkpoints. Your dedicated sales engineer sends updates proactively at least weekly during production. Clients who arrange third-party pre-shipment inspection receive the inspector’s booking confirmation and final report through us as well, keeping every verification step in one thread.
If delivery is delayed, what compensation or handling mechanism exists?
Delays are handled transparently. If a delay risk appears — material shortage, plating line maintenance, port congestion — we notify you immediately with a revised date and options such as partial air shipment at reduced cost, rather than letting you discover it at the deadline. For delays attributable to us, the purchase contract can include a late-delivery penalty clause, typically a percentage of order value per week of delay, agreed before signing. Our in-house production model is precisely why our on-time rate stays high: we control the schedule instead of relying on subcontractors.
What triggers production scheduling — deposit receipt or contract signing?
Deposit receipt. The production slot is reserved when your deposit arrives and the sample is approved — that is the moment materials are purchased and machine time is locked. The signed contract or proforma invoice defines terms beforehand, but the factory schedule runs on paid orders, which is standard practice across the industry. During peak season (August to October) slots fill quickly, so we recommend paying the deposit promptly after sample approval. Your confirmed delivery date is calculated from the deposit date and stated on the proforma invoice.
Do lead times get longer in peak season? How early should we place orders?
Yes — our peak season runs roughly August to October, when brands worldwide produce for holiday launches, and production slots fill weeks ahead. For peak-season delivery we recommend confirming orders — sample approved and deposit paid — at least 4–6 weeks earlier than your normal schedule. Your production slot is reserved when the deposit arrives, so early confirmation, not early inquiry, is what secures capacity. If you share your launch date at the quotation stage, we will back-calculate the latest safe order date and flag any risk honestly.
Is production done entirely in-house or partly outsourced?
All core processes are in-house: mold making, die casting, stamping, CNC machining, polishing, electroplating and PVD coating all run inside our own factory — nothing structural is subcontracted. This is deliberate. Outsourced plating is where most hardware quality problems and delays are born, so we keep every process under one roof to control finish consistency and schedule directly.
